Helpful consumer’s review
Please note there are several different models named Acer Aspire 7720G.

Has had lots of use. Works well, though PC World online support patchy.

17″ 1440*900 screen is pleasant to use and evenly lit.

Blu-ray software works with most BDs but not with all java BD+ discs.

Restore from hard-disk partition worked well and quickly. A great general use desktop replacement.

Battery life OK though playing BDDVD no longer than 2 hours with screen at full brightness.

Some have reported boot up problems, but none experienced by me, just a matter of holding power button down slightly longer than a brief press.

Plays Blu-ray on it’s own 17″ screen or out to monitor through DVI or S-VHS port. Surround sound output through mini SPDIF (BLACK 3.5mm audio jack)

More than capable of running MS Office 2007 and great for browsing and music. No functioning Blutooth included though.

Keyboard has OK action.

Works well in Win Vista Home Premium.
Generally worked well with Win 7 beta, except WLAN, but was using Ethernet anyway. Haven’t tried Win 7RC as yet, will update next month when I have.
