Helpful consumer’s review
I rang customer services with a problem, they were very polite and helpful, but to get a repair it is a lengthy (They seem to forget about you) process.
After initial contact you have to wait for the repair dept to ring you, which is 48 hours after you initially rang the customer service line. (They don’t work weekends, so if you rang Friday, it could be Monday or Tuesday before you get a call). I was lucky they rang the same day I called.
Then they arrange a time and pick up of your laptop by dhl. Must admit you dont need the box as they are supposed to have packaging and a label for it to go back, if they havent they arent allowed to take the laptop.

I hope they don’t leave it about a week (If you are lucky) before they ring you to say sorry this fault is not covered by the warranty, do you want us to repair it at ? such a cost or we can return it unrepaired at a cost of £35 for postage and a fee for us looking at it? This is what I am told just incase it isnt covered…shocked me that did.

I know they had my eldest daughters for 6 weeks before she got nasty with them asking where it is, she finally got it back after nearly 2 months at there repair centre (That includes delivery there and back)
Which should be a turn around of 3-5 days, not including if they have to order a part in, but everyone I have spoken too, said they have taken longer than this stated period.

And the charging part (inside) of the laptop is not very good, they break and they may not be covered by the warranty, now if loads are having this problem, seems to me it is a fault on all of them, but I will have to wait and see. I was told by a computer shop that laptops are well known for this problem.

I gave it 3 stars as it is a lovely machine, not as fast as I thought it would be, but it lost 2 stars for the repair system. Very frustrating.

I will amend my review after I have received mine back, I will add pro’s & cons as I go along.

It has gone back in for yet more repairs. A key popped off and I have to pay for that. I also got the blur screen of death (Happens a lot with Vista and its updates), now even the blue screen has gone and the screen is just blank and Im told I may have to pay for this repair also….Pfftt… Each time it comes back from the repairs shop there are even more scratches on it. I wonder how long they will have this time and how long we will have it before it goes back for more repairs?
If it goes again when i get it back, I am returning it as faulty to the place I got it from.

Toshiba & Sony are the 2 brands that go back to the shop more than any other…Samsung is being voted the best for not needing repairs like these brands do and to top it all they try and make you pay for the repairs!

They failed to pick it up and I had to do a lot of phoning around to get it sorted for another pickup day…to much messing and frustration dealing with their repairs dept and to top it all they can’t quote you for a repair until they get the laptop? I mean how much are they going to charge to have a key fitted on (when it would have cost me a Fiver down the local comp repair shop)…..watch this space….
